A national beauty and candle retailer needed presence on TikTok. Not just awareness — cultural relevance. A one-off campaign wouldn't do it. The brand needed to shift from observer to participant, turning customers into content creators.

The Approach

Collaboration drives viral Hashtag Challenge powered by influencers and original music

Trevant built a Hashtag Challenge that made participation the product, not the content. Six vetted creators seeded the challenge with original music developed in partnership with TikTok's Music Team. The brief was tight: showcase how the brand's products transform spaces and moments. Everything else was designed to be creator-native, not brand-scripted.

The creators didn't just participate. They demonstrated the mechanic. Once the pattern was visible — use the product, film the transformation, post it — the algorithm did the work. User-generated videos became the real content engine.

The Results

When the content structure is right, the algorithm does the distribution.

5.5 billion total video views. 1.5 million branded UGC videos. 9.9 million views on influencer seeding content. The challenge didn't just reach new audiences — it turned them into creators.
