Part 1: TikTok Spark Ads
Spark Ads are a native ad format that lets you amplify organic TikTok posts in paid campaigns — either from your brand's own account or from a creator's account with their authorization. The result is an ad that feels native to the feed rather than a traditional sponsored placement.

Checklist to Launch TikTok Spark Ads
Must-Haves Before Boosting
Influencer must have Ad Settings turned On within their TikTok account.
Advertiser will need an ad authorization code from the influencer:
→ Navigate to your feed and scroll to the video you want to authorize for promotional use. Tap the three dots on the video (as if editing/downloading/dueting it).
→ Scroll to Ad Settings (right before the Delete button). Turn On ad authorization and set the authorization period.
→ Copy the code and send to your Trevant representative.
Things to Consider
1. Avoid copyrighted music. Artlist.io is a reliable source for commercially licensed alternatives.
2. If the content is going to run as an ad, the creator must indicate it is sponsored — via caption, #sponsored, or a relevant brand hashtag.
3. Ensure the ad authorization period covers the entire campaign flight to avoid needing an extension mid-run.
4. Commercial Music Library: Creators can verify if a song is cleared for commercial use via TikTok's Commercial Music Library before posting.
5. Content Disclosure: Toggle on the Content Disclosure / Branded Content setting when posting to ensure the ad is properly disclosed.
6. Safe Zones: Keep key text and visuals within TikTok's safe zones so they aren't obscured by the platform UI.
Part 2: Meta Branded Content Ads
With Meta, you can create Branded Content ads with or without a pre-existing post. This gives brands more flexibility to run creator content at scale — whether amplifying an existing organic post or building a new ad from shared creator assets.
Branded Content Overview
|
Option 1 Partnership Ads — Boosted Post Runs from the influencer's handle, paired with your brand name. ✖ Cannot change existing post copy, headline, or description ✔ Can add text variations to run alongside existing post copy ✔ Can change CTA and add URL |
Option 2 Partnership Ads from Shared Assets Can run from influencer's handle or brand handle — a dynamic toggle is available in platform. ✔ Can change existing post copy, headline, or description ✔ Can change CTA and add URL |
Pro Tip
Depending on agreements with your creators, you can leverage their assets and pair your own brand copy and headlines. This keeps creative fresh without requiring new production — and doesn't need to feature the creator's handle.
